Welcome to my web site.
Thank you for looking me up and I hope I can help in some way. Following is a brief overview of what I am about.
I have been involved with multihulls from the mid 1970’s in one way or another, sailing or building and sometimes both together!
Having lived on multihulls for a combined 12 years or more and sailed/raced over 50,000 nautical miles in them, (many miles with my family aboard), I have formed strong ideas and opinions on what is good and bad for a practical ocean going catamaran. When building a cat for a client I will not compromise the design or safety/seaworthiness of the boat over accommodation or modern conveniences. More on this in the design philosophy section.
For the last 15 years I have almost exclusively been building Mark Pescott designed catamarans as, apart from being a great designer, we both have the same principles when it comes to the seaworthiness and performance of our cats. We have also been friends for over 30 years, plus I am Mark’s Australian agent for his plans.

Along with boatbuilding , I also offer consulting services to assist in deck or internal layouts or any other aspect of multihull design and systems for the newcomer to catamarans.
I take pride in my work and strive to keep improving building techniques, plus, I build for my peers. The last thing I want is another boatbuilder/surveyor finding fault in my workmanship and this, of course, benefits my clients.
I am working on becoming a Multihull Specialist Surveyor and although not yet ticketed I have performed many surveys for prospective buyers and, in the case of Mark Pescott designs, insurance companies have accepted my surveys.
I have a number of stories to tell and will work towards getting them written and posted on the web site as they are written.

Warning! As this is my website I can say what I like and feel and on some occasions I use some bad language to make a point, so if you are easily offended then don’t go any further. Mind you if you watch any M rated movie these days you will be more offended by it, than what is contained in here. Cheers and have a great day!
Ross Blair.
